Our Story
Clint Hobbs owner of Old World Masonry Restoration
I have been working in the masonry trade for over 29 years, with the last 19 years dedicated to historic masonry restoration and preservation.
I began my career laying block and brick in Florida before discovering my passion for restoring historic masonry while working on the Italian American Club in Ybor City. That experience sparked a lifetime commitment to preserving historic buildings using traditional materials and techniques
After moving to Virginia, I worked on restoration projects throughout Washington, D.C., Charlottesville, and Richmond, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Today, Old World Masonry Restoration specializes in lime mortar repointing, historic brick and stone restoration, chimney restoration, and preservation masonry for historic homes, churches, cemeteries, and other landmark buildings.
To continue refining my skills, I have completed advanced lime mortar training with The Scottish Lime Centre Trust, studied traditional Drystone walling in North Carolina, and am certified in Jahn Mortar Repairs. I believe that every historic structure deserves repairs that respect its original materials, craftsmanship, and character.
